What do I do if I get a message that my SkyCaddie cannot be found?

This message indicates that the SkyCaddie driver on your computer might need to be updated. Follow these steps to check and update the driver:

  1. Turn on the SkyCaddie.
  2. Connect the SkyCaddie to an available USB port on your computer.

    The tab on the USB cable should face up with the cord going down.

  3. Click Start on your Windows desktop (computer screen).
  4. Select Control Panel.
  5. Click Classic View if items are shown in Category View.
  6. Click System.
  7. Click Hardware , then click Device Manager.
  8. Continue to the next steps for SG3 and SG4 or SG2, SG2.5, and SG5 models.

SG3 and SG4 models:

  1. Click Modems.
  2. If you see a question mark or exclamation point beside the SkyCaddie driver, right click driver to update. Select Yes, this time only.
  3. ChooseInstall from a specific location (Advanced)*.
  4. Select Include this location in the search.
  5. Click Browse.
  6. Select the path C:\Program Files\SkyGolf\SkyCaddieDesktop\Drivers.
  7. Click OK, then Next.
  8. Select the most up-to-date driver (the driver with the highest number).
  9. Click Continue anyway after Windows searches for the driver.
  10. Click Next.
  11. After the driver is successfully installed, click Finish.
  12. In CaddieSync, attempt to Sync your SkyCaddie.

SG2, SG2.5, and SG5

  1. Click the plus sign next to Ports and you should see CP2101 UART to Bridge Controller.
  2. If the CP2101 UART to Bridge Controller is not listed under ports, click the plus next to Universal Serial Bus Controllers and look for anything that starts with CP210. If CP2101 UART to Bridge Controller is not listed, connect your SkyCaddie to another USB port repeat the above instructions.

If CP2101 UART to Bridge Controller is listed only under Universal Serial bus controllers, follow the next steps.

  1. Right click CP210? and select update driver.
  2. Select Yes, this time only.

    If you don't see Yes, this time only, choose the advanced option that usually allows you to install the driver from a list or a specific location.

  3. Select Include this location in the search and click Browse.
  4. Click the plus next to My Computer, then click the plus next to Local Disk or (C:) drive.
  5. Click the plus next to Program Files, then click the plus next to SkyGolf.
  6. Click the plus next to SkyCaddie Desktop. Click the Drivers, then click OK.
  7. Click Next to update the driver.

    If you get a message that the driver has not passed Windows logo testing, click Continue anyway.

  8. Click Finish when the update process is complete.
